As a Master you make sure the game runs smoothly and everyone has a great time. This is the checklist for every game.
Before the game
Arrive 30 minutes early so you have time to set up.
Set up the pitch: goals in place (if needed), clean bibs ready, balls pumped.
Welcome players as they arrive. Give first-timers extra attention and explain the rules.
Check everyone in via the app. This is how we know who played and who didn't, so never skip it.
Make even teams and hand out bibs. Uneven numbers? Join in to balance the teams. Even numbers? Coach from the side.
Someone shows up without a booking
Ask them to download the app and book a spot. If they don't want to book, they can't play.
During the game
Keep track of the score and call it out before each kick-off.
If one team is much stronger, swap players straight away.
Call out the time every 5 to 10 minutes.
Keep the atmosphere positive: praise good play and coach in a positive way.
Keep spare balls ready so play continues quickly.
If someone gets injured, help them first. Call an ambulance if needed. Step out or jump in to keep teams even.
After the game
Thank everyone and congratulate the winners.
Give first-timers extra attention and invite them for next week.
Help first-timers choose a membership in the app. Mention they can upgrade or downgrade anytime.
